My web host, who shall remain nameless for the present, is really starting to irk me. My site goes down very frequently. The answer is always the same: routine server maintenance. Paleeease.

I've got to find a host that knows what hot swapping means. The thing is, you can never tell what it's going to be like until you go through the hassle of moving your site. I hear good things about GoDaddy - but they're new and hot right now, which makes me worry that they won't be able to scale like the big boys.

There has to be a way to get good metrics on downtime from hosts. Anyone that could offer this service would make a killing. Hmmmmm. You'd have to know a bunch of sites from a particular host and ping them at a reasonable frequency and capture the stats.... Ugh. No wonder no one does this!
