Paul gets a house call

My brother Paul received a house call from a Dr. Ted Tatarian, the cousin of a former colleague of mine from Bluestone Software. Dr. Tatarian is a neurologist at Jefferson in Philly. He spend over two hours at my brother's house reviewing medical records, taking down Paul's history and giving a neurological examination.

After having a good look at Paul, he doesn't think his condition is primarily neurological, but rather a connective tissue disease of some kind. He cites the pronounced loss of soft tissue (fatty padding) most noticeably in Paul's hands and feet. He seemed puzzled by that feature of Paul's disease and felt that the history of muscle pain was actually more connective tissue pain.

He said he would consult with other specialists and give us a call in a few days. Paul has also managed to locate a general practitioner who makes house calls. So if Dr. Tatarian and his colleagues can come up with a diagnosis that is treatable, he could get medication through the general practitioner.

I'll post more as we get more details.
